Costs decision in Ivory Coast case
The Court of Appeal issued its judgment in the largest costs case in English legal history. The case of
Motto v Trafigura concerned the application by Leigh, Day & Co for £100 million costs, in a group action on behalf of 30,000 Ivory Coast citizens
against Trafigura, a company which had dumped toxic waste in the Ivorian capital.
