Proposed fines for 'essential' services opportunity for cyber insurers

This week saw the government make headlines with its proposals for substantial fines for UK firms that fall victim to cyber attacks because of inadequate preventative measures. The proposed fine would be levied against UK “essential” service providers, including the NHS, transport providers and utilities companies.
