Strike Club renewals

The Shipowners’ Mutual Strike Insurance Association Europe (The Strike Club) has renewed more than 95 per cent of its members, and welcomed new members for the new 2017/2018 policy year. The Club’s mutual delay insurance covers a variety of marine trade delays outside a ship operator’s control. The Club is best known for its cover for the daily operating costs of ships held up by strikes, port closures, collisions, breakdowns and other unexpected delays. It said market conditions for the shipping industry have remained extremely challenging for the past 12 months and this has impacted the Club’s business volumes.
