Demurrage – Gencon General Strike Clause – Whether time ran during period of strike

The subject vessel was chartered on an amended Gencon 94 form for a voyage from Kandla in India to Chittagong in Bangladesh with a cargo of salt in bulk. A dispute arose as to whether laytime should count during a period of 6.62 days when discharge at Chittagong was interrupted due to a strike by lighter barge labourers.
