Barclays sued by DoJ over US$31 billion subprime mortgage-backed securities sales

Barclays Bank is being sued by the United States Department of Justice (DoJ), which alleges the UK-based lender was involved in mortgage securities fraud affecting more than US$31 billions’ worth of sub-prime loans in the years immediately prior to the global financial crash of 2008.
