Lloyd’s - Formalities for membership of a syndicate
(P&B (Run-off) Ltd v Woolley [2002] EWCA Civ 65)
In
P&B (Run-off) Ltd v Woolley
[2002] EWCA Civ 65, to be reported in [2002] Lloyd’s Rep IR, the issue was whether alleged failure by Lloyd’s agents to comply
with the procedural requirements for the execution of agreements involving the membership of Names had any effect on the validity
of Names’ membership. The point arose in Woolley in respect of a Name who contested liability to meet calls from a syndicate
in run-off.
