Although cost budgeting has applied to all multi-track claims issued after 1 April 2013, there has been no decision analysing the inter-relationship and tensions between costs management throughout the proceedings and detailed assessment at the very end – until this decision was handed down by District Judge Lumb sitting in Birmingham.
