Autonomous cars and cost of insurance: Kennedys

Kennedys has called on the government to provide greater direction on autonomous cars in its response to the House of Lords Select Committee. It focused in particular on the issue of insurance. In its response to the committee, Kennedys said that manufacturers will initially take steps to try and encourage uptake of such vehicles and seek to artificially reduce or subsidise insurance cover at the point of sale. However, over time and in the shorter term, the cost will be passed onto the consumer.
