BLENHEIM SWOOPS ON CATHEDRAL TO BUILD OUT PROPERTY TEAM
New Lloyd's syndicate Blenheim 5886 has swooped on Cathedral to build out its property teams. John Hamblin, former active underwriter of Cathedral syndicates 2010 and 3010, has joined Blenheim's treaty team. He is followed by Mark Wilson and Simon Dean, who are also from Cathedral. They join Nick Destro, who has been appointed active underwriter of Blenheim, Geraldine McMillan and Michael O Sullivan. Both Destro and McMillan also joined from Cathedral. Dean will join Blenheim in November with Hamblin and Wilson joining in February 2017. Blenheim founders, Peter Scales and John Lynch, have also secured the hiring of Simon King and Nick Adams to underwrite a direct and facultative (D&F) account. King, who announced his departure from Cathedral in March, alongside Destro and Wilson, will join the reassembled team in February 2017, and Adams will join in December. Blenheim, which will be substantially owned by its staff, said it will announce further management and underwriting appointments "in the near future".
