SCIEMUS HIRES WILLIS RE’S DUFFIN FOR SPACE AND AVIATION TEAM

Sciemus has hired Willis Re’s Phil Duffin as director of its space and aviation team. Duffin leaves Willis Re after 13 years, where he most recently served as executive director specialising in aviation and space proportional, non-proportional and facultative reinsurance. At Willis Re he covered all classes of aerospace including space, airlines, general aviation and products liability risk. Sciemus has also added to its cyber and power teams, with Matthew Cook joining as senior technical specialist for power and George Patraskeva appointed cyber security specialist. Cook has joined from PwC, while Patraskeva was previously a cyber security consultant with BAE Detica. Cook has recently led gas turbine research programmes and carried out testing and commissioning work on a range of sites in Europe and the Middle East, while Patraskeva has been hired to help develop implement and operate cyber security methodologies across the Sciemus product range. Sciemus provides modelling and analytics to global insurance markets as well as the space, power, solar, cyber, mining and wind industries.
