SELECTIVE NAMES RENRE’S WILCOX AS CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER

US property/casualty holding Selective Insurance Group has named Mark Wilcox as executive vice-president and chief financial officer, with effect from January 1, to oversee accounting policy; internal, external and regulatory financial reporting; budgeting; global tax; global actuarial; and investor relations. He joins from Bermudian insurer and reinsurer RenaissanceRe Holdings, where he currently serves as senior vice-president, corporate controller and chief accounting officer. Wilcox succeeds Dale Thatcher, who is retiring after 16 years in the post for the New Jersey-based group. “Mark is a highly regarded global financial executive, and we are delighted he will be joining our organisation,” said Selective chairman and chief executive Gregory Murphy. “He has the wide range of insurance experience essential to Selective. He has been involved in all aspects of RenaissanceRe’s global financial operations, including financial reporting and control, investments, treasury, capital management, tax planning, and investor and rating agency relations.”
