FRANKLAND QUITS GUY CARPENTER TO MOVE TO AON BENFIELD

Aon Benfield has hired Nick Frankland to lead its UK operations from rival Guy Carpenter. David Ledger, Aon Benfield's UK chief executive, will become the division’s chairman. Based in London, Frankland will oversee a number of business units at Aon Benfield, including Global ReSpecialty, ReSolutions and the UK and Ireland broking teams. Frankland’s insurance industry career has spanned more than 35 years. He joined Guy Carpenter in 2004 from RK Carvill, where he ran the London market property/casualty division. Frankland began his career in 1980 at EW Payne before moving to Winchester Bowring in 1982, where he was appointed managing director in 1990. He subsequently moved to Ballantyne, McKean & Sullivan in 1992 and then on to Carvill in 1994. Industry veteran Frankland is the latest senior executive from Guy Carpenter to join Aon Benfield. Earlier this year Andy Marcell stepped down as chief executive of Guy Carpenter's US operations to take up the position of head of strategy at Aon Benfield.
