NEON HIRES YOUNG AS M&A UNDERWRITER

Neon has appointed Vanessa Young as underwriter and solicitor for M&A insurance, reporting to Rob Brown, the insurer’s head of M&A liability insurance. Young will join Neon today from Bird & Bird LLP, where she served as legal director. Her experience includes the renewable energy sector and advising infrastructure funds, private equity and other institutional investors. Neon said the hire was part of a broader ambition to consolidate its position as a market leader in the sector, helping to address the growing demand for M&A insurance as a result of increased utilisation by financial and corporate clients during transactions. The insurer said Young’s experience will enable it to offer clients specialist M&A insurance solutions in the renewable energy, tech and funds sector amongst other strategic trade sectors. Young’s hire follows the appointment last month of former Dentons partner, Andrew Thornton, and the hire of Neon's specialist M&A team in 2015.
