New British Standards

The British Standards Institution have announced the publication of a new ES5328; Part 1 gives guidance on the selection of materials for concrete and on the mixes to be specified to produce concrete having the required properties in the fresh and hardened state. Part 2 makes provision for Portland limestone cement. There is also a new Part 1 to ES110 on structural use of concrete; this gives recommendations for the structural use of concrete in buildings and structures, excluding bridges and structural concrete made with high aluminium cement.
