BERKLEY NAMES BARRACLOUGH PRESIDENT OF ADMIRAL INSURANCE UNIT

US commercial property/casualty group WR Berkley has named Scott Barraclough as president of Admiral Insurance, its New Jersey-based excess and surplus lines unit. He succeeds Steven Zeitman, who has been named Admiral’s chairman. Barraclough has been with Admiral for 20 years, most recently serving as executive vice-president. “With his extensive experience in the surplus lines insurance market and proven success at Admiral Insurance over the last two decades, we are confident that Scott is uniquely qualified to take on this leadership role and provide a seamless transition for all of Admiral’s stakeholders,” said Berkley president and chief executive W Robert Berkley. “Steve has made an enormous contribution to the organisation, both in his recent leadership role at Admiral Insurance and having formed and led the business at Berkley Specialty Underwriting Managers with great success. We are fortunate to have the benefit of his continued involvement as chairman of Admiral Insurance.”
