Extensions of time and liquidated damages

In Carillion Construction Ltd v Woods Bagot Europe Ltd [2016] EWHC 905 (TCC), Miss Recorder Nerys Jefford QC sitting as a Judge of the Technology and Construction Court held that any additional period of time to which the defendant was entitled in order to complete the works was to be added contiguously to the end of the period so as to provide an aggregate period within which the sub-contract works should be completed. She also held that the effect of a supplemental agreement had not been to extinguish a claim for liquidated damages.
