MARKEL UNDERWRITES TERROR TRAVEL PRODUCT

International Travel and Healthcare has launched a UK terrorism travel insurance underwritten by London-based Markel International Insurance. The cover, which the company says is a first of its kind, insures against travel delay, cancellation and disinclination to travel to destinations where an act of terrorism has taken place. The policy, which can be offered as a standalone product or alongside traditional travel insurance, also covers personal possessions, evacuation, medical expenses, medical repatriation, death and permanent total disablement in the event of an act of terrorism.
