Golden on convergence

FASB chairman Russ Golden says, in a summer briefing from the standard-setter, that he remains committed to developing global accounting standards with the fewest possible differences. He reiterates that global standards will make investment decisions easier and reduce the costs of accounting and auditing, while acknowledging that cultural and other differences militate against a single standard.
