GALLAGHER ACQUIRES CONNECTICUT MGA

US broking group Arthur J Gallagher & Co has acquired Joseph Distel & Co, a Connecticut-based managing general agent and wholesale insurance broker that provides excess & surplus, property/casualty, professional business liability and other specialty products and services to independent agents and brokers in the northeast US. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Ken Distel and his team will continue to operate from their offices in Farmington and will report to Joel Cavaness, president of Gallagher’s Risk Placement Services unit.
