The long echo of sanctions

Daria Avdeeva, of Skuld, takes a look back at years of sanctions against Iran, as well as ahead to a future set to change

January 2016 is barely behind us, but already there is little doubt sanctions will be a hot topic throughout the year. The first weeks have already been very eventful. 16 January 16 marked a very important milestone in the history of sanctions. That day, the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) reached “Implementation Day”, which in practice means we can now embrace the effect of sanctions against Iran being lifted.
