GALLAGHER ACQUIRES STRATHEARN BROKER IN AUSTRALIA

US broking group Arthur J Gallagher & Co has acquired Strathearn Insurance Group, an Australian broker that provides commercial insurance and risk management services to middle-market and large clients with complex insurance needs. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Strathearn will continue to operate from its headquarters in Perth and offices in Brisbane, Sydney and Adelaide and will report to Andrew Godden, head of Gallagher’s Australian broking operation. “Over the past 24 months, Gallagher has partnered with a number of outstanding acquisitions in Australia that had similar cultures and strategic growth goals,” said Gallagher chairman, president and chief executive J Patrick Gallagher. “With their broad range of insurance broker capabilities, particularly in servicing complex risks, Strathearn’s team is another wonderful match for us.”
