SENN LEAVES ZURICH CHIEF EXECUTIVE ROLE AFTER SIX YEARS
Martin Senn’s tenure as chief executive of Zurich is over after six years in the role. Senn has stepped down “by mutual agreement with the board of directors”, and will leave the company at the end of the year. Zurich said the process to appoint his successor is underway, with chairman Tom de Swaan holding the role on an interim basis until a replacement is found. Zurich said Senn’s departure will have no impact on its strategic focus or financial targets. He leaves the company after a decade with Zurich, having initially joined as chief investment officer. “After 10 very intense years with Zurich, I have decided to step down as chief executive and to make way for new leadership,” he said.”There have been some setbacks in recent months, but I am convinced that we have put in place the right measures for Zurich to reach its targets. I will remain closely tied to the company and am proud of what we have achieved together over the years.”
