REBRANDED BROKER ATL PLANS ENERGY FOCUS

Independent Lloyd’s broker ATL Marine and Energy has rebranded as part of a strategy to build up its energy capabilities. The broker, which began operation in January 2014, was formerly trading as Atlantic (UK) Brokers. The broker has been mainly focused on marine since its launch, but said it is looking to increase capabilities in the energy sector through new hires. In an interview with Insurance Day, ATL said it is planning acquisitions of teams and clients from major brokers in the near future to increase its presence in marine and energy. Inaki Bandres, ATL’s chief executive said the rebrand is a response to the shift in focus. “Our new name aligns our strong corporate identity with the specialist insurance solutions delivered to our highly valued clients, including an increasing energy focus and capability, with ATL being our Lloyd’s broker pseudonym,” he said. The broker is also planning to put greater focus on Latin America over the next year. “We believe our independence will be an important factor in our continued development and by rebranding the company as ATL Marine and Energy we are underlining this virtue. While our name has changed, our commitment and passion for the business is stronger than ever,” Bandres said. In addition to Bandres, ATL Marine and Energy is led by Michael Coombe as non-executive director, Harry Dent as director and broker Juan Luis Bandres.
