Arbitration – Serious irregularity – Inordinate delay in publishing award – Whether serious irregularity – Whether arbitrator failed to deal with issues – Whether award should be set aside

Disputes arose between the claimant shipbuilder and the defendant buyer in connection with the purchase of a research vessel subsequently named Celtic Explorer. The vessel was towed to a different yard for its engines to be commissioned and, for the purposes of keeping the engines in position during the towage, additional distance plates (ADPs) were fitted on either side of each engine.
