Arbitration – Serious irregularity – Inordinate delay in publishing award – Whether serious irregularity – Whether arbitrator failed to deal with issues – Whether award should be set aside
Disputes
arose between the claimant shipbuilder and the defendant buyer in connection
with the purchase of a research vessel subsequently named
Celtic Explorer. The vessel was towed to a different yard for its
engines to be commissioned and, for the purposes of keeping the engines in
position during the towage, additional distance plates (ADPs) were fitted on
either side of each engine.
