RILEY SUCCEEDS CLARKE AS PRESIDENT OF IIL
Stephen Riley is the new president of the Insurance Institute of London. Riley has succeeded Graham Clarke, chief executive of Miller Insurance, for the 2014/15 term. He will be joined by the new deputy president, Dominic Christian, who serves as chief executive of Aon UK and executive chairman of Aon Benfield. Riley, who was previously deputy president, has held a number of market roles during his extensive career. He stepped down as chairman of the London Market Group at the start of 2014 after two years in the role. He previously spent seven years as chairman of the International Underwriting Association. Riley’s insurance career began as a graduate trainee at Swiss Re in 1977, and he went on to spend 22 years with the reinsurer. He later joined CNA as managing director of its London reinsurance business, before joining Global Aerospace in 2002.
