ACE ENTERS GERMAN SURETY MARKET WITH VILLETTE APPOINTMENT
Ace has appointed Charles Villette as surety underwriting manager for Germany. Villette was previously head of international surety business at Zurich, and begins his new role today. He will continue to be based in Frankfurt, the base for his previous role at Zurich. Villette’s appointment marks the launch of Ace’s surety offering in Germany, Europe’s largest economy. He will report to both Luc Reuter, Ace’s head of surety for Europe, and Andreas Wania, Ace’s country president for Germany. Reuter said: “The launch of our surety proposition in Germany is the next natural step in our strategy since 2012, and addresses the rising needs of successful companies exporting abroad.” Surety growth is expected across much of Europe in the current economic environment, with surety insurers expected to play an increasing role in public-private partnerships across the continent.
