SCHUMACHER JOINS SI RE AS CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER

Signal Iduna Re (SI Re) has appointed Patrick Schumacher as chief financial officer. Schumacher, who was previously with New Re, succeeds Beat Landtwing, who has retired after a decade with the company. In his new role, he will be responsible for technical finance, accounting, investments, rating agencies and IT. At New Re, Schumacher had served as head of accounting since 2009. Prior to that, he served Swiss Re as head of portfolio analysis at its global claims operations, and head of reporting at Swiss Re Germany. Schumacher will also join SI Re’s executive team. His appointment follows the July announcement that head of risk management, Andreas Gadmer, has been appointed to the SI Re executive board.
