LLOYD’S INTRODUCES FOUR NEW SATELLITE RDS

Four new satellite realistic disaster scenarios (RDS) are scheduled to be introduced by Lloyd’s today, with these scenarios becoming “live” on January 1 next year. This follows the retirement of the two existing satellite RDS yesterday. In a recent market bulletin, Trevor Maynard, head of exposure management and reinsurance at the performance management directorate, said the new scenarios will focus on space weather (both for a solar energetic particle event and design deficiency), a revised generic defect scenario and a space debris scenario.
