SIRIUS LAUNCHES LLOYD’S MANAGING AGENCY

Sirius has launched its own managing agency today to take over the management of syndicate 1945. The syndicate, formed in 2011, has until now been managed by Asta Managing Agency. The new Sirius International Managing Agency will be led by chairman Goran Thorstensson, chief executive Michael Dashfield and active underwriter Robert Harman. The syndicate currently writes accident and health, property, contingency and marine, and has a capacity of £98.7m. Sirius said the managing agency will also provide a channel to the Lloyd’s market for its parent company, White Mountains Insurance Group.
