LOCKTON BUYS UK MOTOR SPORT BROKER

Kansas City-based insurance broker Lockton has acquired MIS Motorsport for an undisclosed sum. MIS Motorsport is a UK-based privately owned broker specializing in insurance for motor sport in the UK, Europe, and the Far East. The business, which was started by Dermot Hanafin in 2007, provides insurance for a range of motor sports, including Formula 1 and the World Rally Championship. The transaction completed on June 1, 2014, after receiving regulatory approval. Lockton companies LLP partner Paul Jack commented, "Combining MIS Motorsport and our own business will make Lockton the leading insurance and risk advisor to the UK motorsport industry.” Mr Hanafin joins Lockton as part of the deal.
