DIRECT LINE ENTERS LEGAL BUSINESS
UK motor and household insurer Direct Line Group has taken advantage of a recent change in legislation allowing non-law forms to offer legal services. The Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) has authorised DLG Legal Services Ltd to operate as an Alternative Business Structure, enabling it to provide certain legal activities to the public. DLG Legal Services will offer legal services to the insurer’s customers in conjunction with Parabis Law LLP from March 3, 2014. DLG Legal Services will extend the range of legal services Direct Line Group already offers its customers, it said in a statement. The Legal Services Act 2007 allows non-lawyers to own and invest in law firms.
