EU public prosecutor’s office goes forward with limited support
By Carmen Paun, in Brussels
The establishment of a European Public Prosecutor’s Office (EPPO) is set to proceed but it will not operate across the whole
European Union after 11 member states objected by a 28 October deadline. Britain, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, France, Hungary,
Ireland, Malta, the Netherlands, Romania, Slovenia and Sweden will not participate, while Denmark, having not signed up to
any judicial cooperation with other EU countries, is automatically excluded.
