IHS, looks at growing security risks around the world

Kenya

On 24 September 2013, the Kenyan security forces announced 10 of the attackers at Westgate shopping mall had been arrested and all hostages had been freed. Kenyan security forces have launched a number of operations to locate assailants believed to have escaped by disguising themselves among those rescued. This has led to the arrest of two people at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, attempting to board a flight to Turkey using expired travel documents. Foreign Minister Amina Mohamed reported two Americans and one British citizen were involved in the attack, meaning foreigners will also be subject to high levels of scrutiny.
