New deputy head of marine unit

Novae plc, the London listed Lloyd’s specialty underwriter, has appointed Darren Carr as the deputy head of the marine unit reporting to joint active underwriter Robert Forster. Darren has joined from Mitsui Sumitomo where he successfully established marine liability as a new class of business. Prior to that he spent nearly five years with Hiscox as the deputy class underwriter developing broad experience across the marine liability market, building a reputation for innovation through the development of a number of new products. Darren began his career with Aon’s marine division.
