£30,000 out of court settlement for zebra crossing accident

An elderly woman who was struck by a car on a zebra crossing near her home has received £30,000 in an out of court settlement. When she stepped onto the zebra crossing, a motorist stopped her car to allow her to cross, but a police car suddenly appeared and drove up behind the motorist with its lights and siren on. The driver then appeared to panic and when she tried to get out of the way of the police car she drove straight towards the elderly woman.
