£7,300 settlement for injured cyclist

A postman has won damages of £7,300 after he was hit by a Royal Mail van whilst cycling home from work. The van drove into him at a junction, throwing him across the road into the other lane. He suffered considerable soft tissue damage. On his return to work, he worked shorter hours and was given lighter duties. The accident left him too traumatised to ride a bicycle again and he now travels to work by bus.
