Big Interview: Gary Masters and Hugh Price

London market reinsurance broker Alwen Hough Johnson (AHJ) will celebrate its 40th anniversary in a few months’ time. As the firm decides on the most appropriate way to mark the occasion, however, AHJ’s chairman, Hugh Price, and its chief executive, Gary Masters, are only too aware this milestone event comes at a time when smaller brokers like AHJ are under more pressure than ever before as a result of the ongoing process of consolidation, which has significantly reduced the number of independent brokers in the market over the past two decades.
