UNISON launches asbestos exposure database

UNISON has launched an asbestos exposure database for UNISON members. It said that this is of benefit because the time between being exposed to the fibres and developing an asbestos related disease can be a significant number of years. “Consequently, a database of this type can be of real assistance,” said the union. “It allows members to permanently and confidentially register details of where and when they have been exposed to asbestos, together with the names and addresses of work colleagues who were present at the time.”
