Hospice receives £7,000 from mesothelioma claim
A hospice that nursed a terminally ill engineer during his last days has received compensation for the cost of his care. Thompsons
Solicitors secured more than £7,000 for the hospice after the man died of mesothelioma. He was first exposed to asbestos when
he was just 14 working on a shipyard on the River Tyne. He later qualified as an engineering surveyor and was exposed to asbestos
while inspecting boilers. The claim was settled out of court against the employers insurance company for an undisclosed sum
and in addition also recovered compensation for the hospice.
