Over £145,000 in compensation for mesothelioma
A man who has been diagnosed with mesothelioma has received just over £145,000 in compensation. He worked as a metallurgist
which required him to attend power stations under construction where he worked in the close vicinity of asbestos pipe laggers
and used dangerous items such as asbestos blankets and asbestos gloves. He also had to strip the asbestos lagging of pipes
in established power stations which caused him to work in environments where the atmosphere was thick with asbestos dust.
The company he worked for had ceased trading but the company’s insurers were identified and admitted liability and settled
the claim out of court.
