Piracy update

Nigeria and Venezuela have seen slight increases in piracy incidents in the past two years. Exclusive Analysis’s John Cochrane highlights the risks going forward

On 4 September 2012, five armed pirates in four powerboats took over the MT Abu Dhabi Star, a Singapore-owned oil tanker off Lagos, Nigeria. The Nigerian Navy freed the vessel and its 23 crew the next day.
