UK-based bank Barclays... has begun making refunds to holders of payment protection insurance (PPI). Early last month the UK Office of Fair Trading announced that it would be looking into the sales tactics of PPI, which it has been alleged were often sold to customers for whom the product was unsuitable. Barclays confirmed that “a small percentage of Barclays loan customers” had been offered refunds after an internal review.
