GEMSTAR SUES INSURER OVER LIABILITY COVERAGE

California-based Gemstar-TV Guide is suing Pittsburgh-based National Union Fire Insurance for $50m in liability coverage to pay for legal judgements over inflated revenues. The company is alleged to have overstated its revenue by $248m between March 2000 and September 2002. Gemstar claims that its cover was paid up to October 10 2002. The insurer, part of New York-based insurer AIG, said that it had neither denied coverage nor provided it”.
