£250,000 out of court settlement for moped rider

A moped rider who suffered serious leg injuries when he was knocked off his bike by a car has received £250,000 in an out of court settlement. The man was struck on his front left side by the car as it pulled out of the owner’s driveway. He was thrown over his handlebars into the road. He suffered injuries to his back, neck and left shoulder as well as a broken left leg and two fractures of his left knee. He was unable to work again for nearly 18 months and now has to wear a knee brace. He is very likely to develop osteoarthritis at a young age and will need a total knee replacement by the time he reaches 50.
