Liability Risk and Insurance
£190,500 in compensation for elbow injury
A print factory worker who has been left with a long term injury and remains off work almost two years after injuring his
elbow in a fall at work has received £190,500 in compensation. He was attempting to fix a problem with a roll of paper on
a machine and as he stepped backwards his foot struck a pallet truck parked directly behind him, causing him to fall. His
right elbow was fractured and dislocated. In total he underwent three operations, and may need further surgery in the future.
He has been unable to return to his job as a printer. His employer accepted responsibility and settled the claim out of court.
