HSE acts over Legionnaires’ disease outbreak

Over 40 cases of Legionnaires’ disease have been confirmed in Edinburgh, with a further 45+ suspected cases. One person has died as a result of the outbreak. The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) and Edinburgh City Council are continuing their investigations into the possible source of the outbreak, which is thought to have been caused by a cooling tower.
