Survey highlights public view of hire and fire proposals

Recent proposals that British companies should be able to hire and fire employees more easily have been met with a less-than-enthusiastic response from Britons, according to a survey by YouGov. Around one third said that the “hire-fire” balance currently allowed in business is “about right,” and almost one in five people said that employees should actually have more protection.
