SUNCORP METWAY GETS FITCH UPGRADE

Rating agency Fitch has upgraded Australia-based Suncorp Metway Ltd to 'A+' from 'A' – bringing it to the same level as that held by Suncorp Metway Insurance Ltd and Vero Insurance Ltd – the other main operating subsidiaries of Suncorp Group Ltd. The outlook is stable. Fitch said that the equalization of ratings followed "more detailed discussions with management on the processes and resources available to the group to provide support".
