Berrisford v Mexfield Housing Co-operative Limited [2011] UKSC 52 (9 November 2011)

Although this is essentially a housing tenancy case it raises some interesting points on leasehold law which are equally applicable to tenancies of commercial premises and will be of interest to readers. For those interested in the legal history of periodic tenancies and leases for uncertain terms the full judgment is well worth reading and all the relevant authorities, including some from the 13th, 14th and 15th centuries.
