£160,000 in compensation for mesothelioma
A man who developed mesothelioma after being exposed to asbestos in the 1960s has finally received £160,000 in compensation
in an out of court settlement following a number of court hearings in the High Court. He worked as a carpenter and builder
for a brewery in East London in the early 1960’s. As part of his job, he was involved with insulating a basement with asbestos
boards that had to be cut to size using a hand saw and drill. He and his colleague would work nine hour shifts breathing in
the toxic air without any kind of protection or specialist respiratory equipment.
